President’s Statement – Daniel McMullin, President

I’d like to thank everyone who helped make it such a rewarding year of service and community spirit.

It has been a privilege to work alongside such dedicated members and to witness the incredible generosity of local businesses and the wider Galway community.

This year, together, we supported a wide range of initiatives, including our Carers’ Weekend, Christmas food hampers and food vouchers, fuel assistance, Spectacle Recycling, Message in a Bottle, third-level education support and suicide awareness projects. Through our fundraising events—including the Radio Auction, Golf Classic, November Swim and Christmas collections—we also supported organisations such as Hand in Hand and Domestic Violence Response Galway.

A sincere thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, sponsored events or supported us in any way. Special thanks to the many Galway businesses who contributed throughout the year, and to Galway Bay FM for their continued partnership with our annual Radio Auction.

Finally, thank you to my fellow Lions members. Everything this club achieves is made possible by your commitment, generosity and countless volunteer hours. It has been an honour to serve as your President.

I wish our incoming President, Brooke Sheehan, every success for the year ahead. I know Galway Lions Club will continue to make a positive difference in our community.

Thank you all for a memorable 2025–2026.

Daniel
